Foster Care

Our Foster Parents make the difference that matters in the lives of so many children.

We specialize in Family Foster Care and Treatment Foster Care. As a ‘treatment’ foster care provider, our staff and foster parents have the capability to serve additional treatment needs.

Our professional staff provides guidance and support through extensive training, regular home visits and an emergency crisis system for both foster parents and children. Foster parents meet monthly in small teams to support each other and discuss successes and challenges.

Beech Acres’ wraps services around our foster children and families. We not only meet basic physical, safety, and emotional needs of children through licensed foster homes, we meet their treatment needs as well.

• a safe and nurturing home environment;
• a healthy family experience;
• needed and required child welfare activities
• advocacy on behalf of the child and family
• mental health services
• working with children to build their skills (such as coping, independent living, CARE)
• working with children and their families to strengthen their bond
• connections to all of Beech Acres Parenting Center’s services and other community resources

Beech Acres’ Foster Care supports our agency vision that each parent sees, and grows, the best in themselves and their children. We do this by helping our foster families leverage our transformative agency approach of Intentional, Strength-based Parenting. Embedded in everything we do, this approach promotes clarity of vision, mindfulness, and interactions that build on the family’s strengths. It teaches parents how to shift from being reactive to proactive...it strengthens parenting styles that focus on building relationships with their children which are positive and preventive in nature.

Beech Acres’ Foster Care also provides:

• A Reunification Program for children who will be returning to family/kin. This program partners foster parents and families so that children can be reunified and so that they can remain in their family homes.
• Respite for our own foster families and for other community foster care programs at times.

We work with each child and foster family to ensure the best match between the skills and characteristics of Foster Parents with the needs and other circumstances of the child. Every effort is made by experienced Beech Acres staff to ensure that children get exactly the home and the support they need.
