DESCRIPTION:**This training is currently scheduled as an IN PERSON training
  at our main office\, 615 Elsinore Place\, Cincinnati\, OH**\nOrientation 
 to Foster Care\nThe Effects of Caregiving on the Caregiving Family\nModule
  1 provides an overview of the child welfare system and examines the diffe
 rences between foster care\, adoption\, and kinship care. Participants rec
 eive information about the needs of waiting children as well as the proces
 s of becoming a foster or kinship caregiver or adoptive parent. We will al
 so examine the impact of foster care\, kinship care\, and adoption on indi
 vidual members of the caregiving family as well as the impact on their rel
 ationships with one another. Participants are introduced to effective copi
 ng strategies to prevent against burnout and secondary traumatic stress.\n
