This 3-session support group provides foster parents with a safe and supportive cohort to explore the unique challenges and rewards of parenting in foster care. Each session will focus on a specific aspect of the foster care experience: foster (resource) parenting as an identity, managing the emotional complexities of parenting within foster care, and fostering self-care and resilience as caregivers. Through guided discussions and shared experiences participants will leave with emotional support and a deeper sense of connection with others on a similar path. These sessions build on each other. | Bringing Nature Connections to Your Family (presented by Cincinnati Nature Center) | April 18, 2026 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Cincinnati Nature Center 4949 Tealtown Road, Milford, 45150 | Bringing Nature Connections to Your Family Saturday, April 18th from 10am-12pm This training event is open to licensed foster parents and their families Travel to Cincinnati Nature Center to learn how to support children in outdoor play and exploration, and how to use nature as a calming space for connecting with your family. This workshop will have you and your child(ren) working together through outdoor activity stations with fun challenges at child and adult levels at each stop. Try to creatively cross a stream, build a home for a small creature, move your indoor activities to an outdoor space, and more! This workshop comes with free admission for the day to Cincinnati Nature Center, as well as a chance to win a variety of prizes. Most appropriate for children ages 2-10 years old, but other ages are welcome. Additional details: We'll be using CNC's Nature PlayScape (4949 Tealtown Rd, Milford, OH) for this session, which is close to bathrooms and parking. The terrain is mainly on gravel pathways with some slightly uneven terrain. Areas with benches are available nearby. This activity is 100% outdoors, so dress for the weather.
