Preservice Module 7: Partnering with Primary Families & Maintaining Connections (in person)

**This training is currently scheduled as an IN PERSON training at our main office, 615 Elsinore Place, Cincinnati, OH**

During this module participants will describe the benefits of partnering with the primary parent, identify strategies to be an effective partner, and summarize the importance of relationships to children in care.. Participants will also learn to identify the C.A.R.E. guide as Ohio’s recommended best practice in co-parenting and reunification efforts. Lastly, we will discuss how to support relationships with other important people, including siblings.

Foster Parent Support Group: Grief and Loss in Foster Care (3 part class) — IN PERSON

Join us in May to share ideas and information with your foster parent cohorts. 

This registration counts for all three dates.

Attendance is required all 3 sessions: 05/14/2025, 06/11/2025, 7/9/2025 6:00pm-7:30pm

This 3-session support group provides foster parents with a safe and supportive cohort to explore the unique grief and loss experiences within foster care. Participants will explore the complex emotions tied to the challenges and detours on the path to becoming a foster parent, including infertility, unmet expectations, and shifts in personal identity. Each session will focus on a specific aspect of loss, offering insight into the emotional complexities of fostering, adoption, and reunification. Through guided discussions and shared experiences, participants will gain emotional support, healing, and a deeper sense of connection with others on a similar path.

 

Limited child care available. Pre-Registration is required and can be done here.

Ongoing Foster Parent Training: CPR & First Aid

This class is for Ongoing Training and is only open to licensed foster parents with Beech Acres.

All Foster Parents are required to attend a CPR and First Aid Training course for Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, First Aid, and AED. This training is only open to currently licensed foster parents and class size is limited. After your registration is processed and accepted, you will receive an email with additional meeting instructions. Please register for each attendee. If for some reason you are unable to attend after registering, please notify us immediately at fctraining@beechacres.org so that we can offer that spot to the next attendee.

Ongoing Training: Rules & Policies (in person)

This training promotes safety for all foster children and helps foster caregivers to remain in compliance
with state, local, and agency requirements. Updates to state rules and agency policies will be
presented. Normalcy practices in accordance with the reasonable and prudent parent standard will be
reviewed.

This training is required once per license period for every BAPC foster family.

This class is for Ongoing Training and is only open to licensed foster parents with Beech Acres.
