Foster Parent Summer Training Conference KICKOFF
Foundations Foster Parent Training Conference Kickoff Party
Sarah Buffie Joins Us To Kickoff The Foundations Foster Parent Training Conference. You don’t want to miss this!
Be sure to register to attend the Conference Kickoff Party with Sarah Buffie! Sarah will be providing a 2 hour training on Trauma Informed Care in addition to the fun.
Friday night’s kick off session will be an interactive conversation about Things to DO and Ways to BE that help us bring more trauma informed and responsive approaches to our families and one another. We’ll learn about 5 Core Convictions that help us orient to the ROOT of any challenges that may arise instead of getting distracted by the symptoms. Bring something to write on, something to write with and be ready to engage with one another as we all discover what it means to shift from being not just trauma-informed, but trauma responsive.
Sarah Buffie MSW, LSW, founding director of Soul Bird Consulting believes that nothing has the power to heal like supportive relationships. Specializing in trauma-responsive care, she helps organizations and individuals disrupt current models of thinking by building empathy and understanding around the effects of trauma. Sarah has worked in community organizing- specifically, Asset Based Community Development, for over a decade and has a deep passion for her work. Her focus is to spread awareness about how trauma affects the brain and body, and teach effective approaches for developing resilience within the people organizations strive to serve, and the people closest to the work, caregivers, and direct providers. Sarah received her Master’s in Social Work from Northern Kentucky University with a self-study focus in Polyvagal Theory, positive psychology, and trauma-sensitive mindfulness practices. With years working closely in her Cincinnati community through her Americorps service as well as abroad with her Peace Corps service in Namibia, Africa, Sarah brings a unique community-building lens to the work.
